In just one year Adelaide sisters Natasha and Tamara Fischermann have turned their side hustle into a successful business, with a client base across Australia.
Love Potion Crystals, which began as a market stall, has grown into a thriving business with a successful shop-front in north-east Adelaide, with the support of a program designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs turn their business ideas into a sustainable venture.
The pair tapped into IntoJobs’ Self Employment Assistance program which provides participants with training, support and mentoring to aid the development of their business milestones.
Since accessing the program, the sisters’ business has grown, with the pair hosting regular craft workshops, mindfulness meditation and natural therapies in collaboration with other small business owners. They have also launched an online store, where they sell their products nationwide.
Natasha and Tamara attribute a portion of their success to the ongoing mentoring and support delivered by IntoJobs and supported by Mas National (Both part of the IntoWork Group) as part of their 12-months of Small Business Coaching.
The pair met monthly with Business Consultant Rachel Kammerman to future-proof their business and share ideas, “We found our coach, Rachel, extremely helpful. She provided us with a lot of ideas, tools and business resources. Her support was integral to making future plans for the business,” Tamara said.
Through Rachel’s connections, the sisters were introduced to other business owners and attended networking events in the area, allowing them to expand their offerings and explore potential collaborations.
“We have a lot more stock in than when we started, and locally made products too,” Tamara said.
Self-Employment Assistance provides more than just business coaching. It offers comprehensive guidance and support for individuals starting and managing their own small businesses. This program is fully funded by the federal government and provides a comprehensive range of free supports, including business advice and training on various topics such as business registration, website domains, ABN setup, as well as financial, marketing, and strategic advice. Additionally, it offers support to develop a comprehensive business plan.
Services are designed to offer maximum flexibility and are tailored to individual business needs, with training delivered by highly qualified and highly experienced business coaches across a range of industry and service-based professions.
Business Navigator Rachel Kammerman said it was a privilege working with Tamara and Natasha, who have achieved remarkable success within a short timeframe, “They had the ability to ‘think outside the box’ and faced challenges head on. They were not afraid to ask questions and seek support. I wish them every success for the future, I know it will be a bright one,” she said.
